LG gram Pro 17 Touchscreen Alternatives: 6 Similar Picks Compared

How each alternative compares

ASUS ROG Strix 16 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix 16 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop prioritizes raw graphical power over the portability of the LG gram Pro 17. It features an RTX 5070 graphics card and a Ryzen 9 processor, making it suitable for high-performance gaming and creative workloads. However, this performance comes at the cost of weight and thickness. The ASUS model weighs 10 pounds and measures 4.5 inches high, which is significantly heavier and thicker than the 3.3-pound, 0.57-inch-thin LG. You also get a 16-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, which is faster for gaming but smaller than the LG’s 17-inch WQXGA display. Choose this if you need desktop-class gaming performance and do not mind carrying a heavier machine.

Acer Nitro V 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop

The Acer Nitro V 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop offers a more budget-friendly entry into high-performance computing. It includes an RTX 5060 graphics card and an Intel Core 7 processor, paired with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Like the ASUS, it targets gamers who value high refresh rates, offering a 16-inch 165Hz display. This is a trade-off for the LG’s larger 17-inch touchscreen. The Acer weighs 4.63 pounds and is 0.78 inches thick, making it heavier and thicker than the LG gram Pro 17. It is a solid choice for gamers who want strong performance in a 16-inch package but prefer a lower price point than the premium LG option.

Lenovo ThinkPad 14-Inch 64GB RAM Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad 14-Inch 64GB RAM Laptop is designed for heavy multitasking and business productivity. It stands out with 64GB of RAM, which is double the 32GB found in the LG gram Pro 17. This makes it ideal for professionals who need to run multiple applications simultaneously. However, you sacrifice screen size and touch capability. The ThinkPad has a 14-inch non-touch display, which is smaller than the LG’s 17-inch WQXGA touchscreen. It also weighs 5 pounds, making it heavier than the 3.3-pound LG. If your work requires massive memory for complex tasks and you do not need a large touchscreen, this ThinkPad is a practical alternative.

Apple MacBook Pro 16.2-inch M2 Max

The Apple MacBook Pro 16.2-inch M2 Max is built for professional video editing and 3D graphics work. It features an M2 Max chip and 32GB of RAM, providing powerful processing for creative workflows. The 16.2-inch display offers high quality, though it is not a touchscreen like the LG. The MacBook weighs 2.16 kilograms (approximately 4.76 pounds), which is heavier than the LG gram Pro 17. It also has a 2TB SSD, matching the LG’s storage capacity. You give up the Windows ecosystem and the larger 17-inch screen size. This laptop is best for users who prioritize display quality and processing speed for creative tasks over gaming or the specific portability of the LG.

HP Omen 15.3" RTX 5060 Ryzen 7 Gaming Laptop

The HP Omen 15.3" RTX 5060 Ryzen 7 Gaming Laptop delivers strong performance for creative professionals and gamers. It includes an RTX 5060 graphics card, a Ryzen 7 processor, and 32GB of RAM. The 15.3-inch screen is smaller than the LG’s 17-inch display, and it lacks touchscreen functionality. The HP Omen weighs 5.35 pounds and is 0.93 inches thick, making it significantly heavier and thicker than the lightweight LG gram Pro 17. It offers a 2TB SSD, similar to the LG. This laptop is a good fit if you need strong graphical performance for gaming or creative work and are willing to accept a heavier, non-touch device with a slightly smaller screen.

Lenovo ThinkPad 14-inch Ultra 7 Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad 14-inch Ultra 7 Laptop is another option for heavy multitasking and business durability. It features 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, providing ample memory and storage for professional tasks. The 14-inch screen is smaller than the LG’s 17-inch touchscreen, which may be a drawback if you need more screen real estate. It weighs 3.1 pounds, which is slightly lighter than the LG’s 3.3 pounds. This ThinkPad is not suitable for gaming or users seeking high refresh rates. It is designed for professionals who need massive RAM in a durable package. If your priority is business productivity and light weight, this is a viable alternative to the LG gram Pro 17.
