How each alternative compares
Apple MacBook Air 13.3-inch M1 1TB
The Apple MacBook Air 13.3-inch M1 1TB weighs 2.8 pounds, which is 1.16 pounds lighter than the LG gram Book 16. You trade the 16-inch touchscreen for a smaller 13.3-inch non-touch display. The M1 chip offers strong performance for general tasks, but it lacks the dedicated AI engine found in the Ryzen AI 7 processor. If you prioritize extreme portability and do not need a large screen or touch input, this compact laptop is a practical choice. It keeps the same 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage capacity as the LG model, ensuring ample space for your files.

It fits users who value screen real estate and power over lightweight portability.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 13.8 Snapdragon X2 Elite

The Microsoft Surface Pro 13-Inch OLED 2-in-1 is a versatile device that weighs significantly less than the LG gram Book 16, though exact weight data is not provided. It features a 13.5-inch OLED display, which offers superior color contrast compared to the LG's WUXGA IPS screen. However, it lacks a full-size keyboard in the base configuration, requiring you to purchase accessories separately.
