You might look for microsoft refurbished surface laptop alternatives if the original device does not fit your specific needs. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Snapdragon X Elite offers strong AI performance and a large 13.8-inch touchscreen. It provides up to 20 hours of battery life and includes 16GB of RAM. These specs make it practical for professionals who need a spacious display and long endurance.
However, you may prefer a different screen size, operating system, or form factor. Some users want a 13.3-inch portable option or a 2-in-1 convertible. Others might need a traditional clamshell design with an Intel processor instead of Snapdragon. We selected these alternatives because their specifications overlap with the original. Each option shares key attributes like 16GB of memory or a 256GB SSD. This ensures you can compare devices based on practical hardware details rather than vague features. The list covers various sizes and brands to help you find the right match.
Comparing the top alternatives
Apple MacBook Air 13.3-Inch M1 16GB
The Apple MacBook Air 13.3-Inch M1 16GB offers a significantly lighter profile at 2.8 pounds, compared to the 3.67-pound Surface Laptop. It shares the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage capacity, ensuring similar multitasking capabilities. However, you trade the 13.8-inch touchscreen and Windows 11 Copilot+ AI features for macOS compatibility and a smaller 13.3-inch display. This model is ideal for users who prioritize portability and do not need Windows-specific software or touch interaction. The M1 chip provides efficient performance, though it lacks the dedicated NPU found in the Snapdragon X Elite for specialized AI tasks.
Microsoft Surface Pro 13-inch 2-in-1
The Microsoft Surface Pro 13-inch 2-in-1 features the newer Snapdragon X2 Plus processor, offering a modern upgrade over the original's X Elite. It maintains the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD configuration while adding 2-in-1 versatility with a detachable design. You gain a compact form factor suitable for mobile productivity, though the device is thicker at 1.97 inches compared to the Surface Laptop's 0.72 inches. This option suits users who value a convertible tablet-laptop hybrid and the latest AI capabilities. It sacrifices the traditional clamshell keyboard experience for greater flexibility in how you hold and use the device.
Dell Latitude 14-Inch FHD Laptop
The Dell Latitude 14-Inch FHD Laptop uses an Intel Core i5 processor instead of the Snapdragon X Elite, providing standard business performance rather than specialized AI acceleration. It matches the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage but lacks the Copilot+ PC features and long battery life claims of the Surface. The 14-inch display is slightly larger than the Surface's 13.8-inch screen, offering more workspace for standard applications. Weighing 3 pounds, it is lighter than the Surface Laptop. This model is best for professionals who need dependable Windows computing for office tasks without requiring advanced AI tools or a touchscreen interface.
Apple MacBook Air 15-inch M2
The Apple MacBook Air 15-inch M2 provides a significantly larger display for creative work and gaming, contrasting with the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop screen. It retains the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage capacity, ensuring comparable multitasking power. However, you move away from Windows and Copilot+ AI features to macOS, and the device weighs 1.51 kilograms, which is heavier than the Surface Laptop. The M2 chip offers strong performance, though it does not include the specific NPU benefits of the Snapdragon X Elite. This alternative is suited for users who prioritize screen real estate and portability over Windows-specific productivity tools.
Dell Latitude 14 Core i5 16GB RAM Laptop
The Dell Latitude 14 Core i5 16GB RAM Laptop offers a traditional 14-inch display, slightly larger than the Surface Laptop's 13.8-inch touchscreen. It shares the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage, providing similar multitasking capacity. The Intel Core i5 processor handles daily tasks well but lacks the AI-focused NPU of the Snapdragon X Elite. Weighing 3.88 pounds, it is heavier than the Surface Laptop. This model is designed for office tasks and light multitasking, making it a practical choice for users who need reliable Windows performance without the premium features or touchscreen interface of the Surface Laptop.
NIMO 15.6-Inch Ryzen 5 6600H Laptop
The NIMO 15.6-Inch Ryzen 5 6600H Laptop features a larger 15.6-inch display and an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, differing from the Snapdragon X Elite. It includes 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage, matching the Surface Laptop's memory and capacity. The Ryzen 5 offers strong daily processing power, though it lacks the specific AI acceleration of the Snapdragon chip. Weighing 3.75 pounds, it is slightly heavier than the Surface Laptop. This option is best for users who value a larger screen and upgradeable memory for multitasking, rather than the compact design and AI features of the Surface Laptop.
