Apple MacBook Pro 14 M3 Alternatives: 6 Similar Picks Compared

How these alternatives compare

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Intel Core Ultra 5

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 swaps Apple’s M3 Pro chip for an Intel Core Ultra 5. It keeps the 14-inch screen size and 512GB SSD but reduces RAM to 16GB. This model weighs 3.37 pounds, slightly lighter than the MacBook’s 3.5 pounds. You gain a Windows environment and business-focused security features. You lose macOS stability and the high-resolution Liquid Retina XDR display. This pick suits professionals who prioritize processor efficiency and portability for daily productivity tasks over graphical power or specific creative software needs.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 14-Inch Laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 also uses an Intel Ultra 5 processor with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro instead of macOS. The chassis measures 12.5 inches in length and weighs 3.2 pounds, making it marginally lighter than the MacBook Pro. You trade the M3 Pro’s unified memory architecture for standard DDR RAM. The display lacks the XDR brightness and color accuracy of Apple’s screen. This alternative is best for users who need a reliable Windows machine for business tasks and value portability and processor speed over dedicated graphics performance.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 14" Touchscreen Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 with touchscreen offers 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It features an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip rather than Apple’s M3 Pro. The device weighs 3.22 pounds and includes touch interaction capabilities. You gain a responsive touchscreen interface for easier navigation. You give up the superior color fidelity of the Liquid Retina XDR display and the macOS ecosystem. This model fits business users who want portability and touch input. It is less suitable for creators needing high-end graphics processing or professional video editing workflows that rely on Apple Silicon optimization.

Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch M3 Pro Renewed

This renewed Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch M3 Pro retains the 14-inch screen and 512GB SSD storage. It uses the same M3 Pro chip and 18GB of unified RAM as the original. The primary difference is the Space Black color option instead of Silver. It is a renewed unit, meaning it may show signs of prior use. You get the same professional-grade performance and portability. You sacrifice the guarantee of new condition hardware. This pick is ideal for professionals who prioritize performance and portability while seeking a more affordable entry point into the Apple ecosystem without compromising on core specifications.

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED Touch Laptop

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED Laptop features an Intel Ultra 7 255H processor with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. It weighs just 2.65 pounds, significantly lighter than the MacBook Pro’s 3.5 pounds. The 14-inch OLED display offers vibrant colors and high contrast. You gain a modern Windows machine with excellent screen quality for media consumption. You lose the M3 Pro’s efficiency and the macOS operating system. This alternative suits users who value a portable, lightweight device with high-color accuracy screens for business and entertainment, rather than specific creative software requirements.

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED Touch Ultra 7 Laptop

This ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED Touch Laptop also uses an Intel Ultra 7 255H chip with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage. It shares the same 2.65-pound weight and Jasper Gray color as the other Zenbook. The 14-inch OLED screen provides high color accuracy. You get a solid Windows alternative with modern connectivity options. You give up the Apple Silicon ecosystem and the specific performance characteristics of the M3 Pro. This model is best for users who prioritize screen quality and portability. It fits those wanting a reliable machine for daily tasks without needing the specialized tools found in macOS.
