How each alternative compares
Dell Latitude 14-Inch Ultrabook 32GB RAM
The Dell Latitude 7480 offers 32GB of RAM, which is double the 16GB found in the Swift 3. This extra memory helps if you run many applications at once or work with large datasets. It keeps the same 14-inch screen size and 1TB SSD storage as the original. However, it lacks the OLED panel, so you get a standard display instead of deep blacks and vibrant colors. You also lose the 90Hz refresh rate and the lightweight aluminum build. This model is best for users who prioritize multitasking capacity and storage over visual quality and portability.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 14" Core i7
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 is significantly lighter at 2.41 pounds compared to the Swift 3’s 3.09 pounds. It maintains a 14-inch screen and 1TB SSD, making it a strong contender for daily carry. It uses an Intel Core i7 processor, similar to the original, ensuring solid performance for business tasks. The trade-off is that it does not feature an OLED display. You get a standard screen resolution instead of the Swift 3’s sharp 2.8K OLED panel. This laptop is ideal for professionals who value extreme portability and reliable processing power over high-end graphics and color accuracy.
Dell Latitude 14" Core i7 32GB Laptop
The Dell Latitude 3420 provides 32GB of RAM, offering twice the memory of the Swift 3 for heavy multitasking. It also includes a 1TB SSD, matching the original storage capacity. The 14-inch screen size remains consistent with the Swift 3. However, this model lacks the OLED display technology, meaning you will not see the same contrast or color vibrancy. It is heavier and thicker than the Swift 3, reducing its portability. This option suits business users who need maximum memory and storage capacity for demanding workflows and do not require a premium visual experience or a lightweight chassis.
Acer Swift 3 14" QHD Laptop
The Acer Swift 3 QHD model features a 14-inch screen with high resolution, similar to the OLED version but without the OLED technology. It includes a 1TB SSD, matching the original storage. This model is lighter at 2.76 pounds, making it more portable than the Swift 3 OLED. It uses an Intel Core i7 processor, ensuring comparable performance. The main difference is the display type. You get a QHD panel instead of an OLED screen, which means less vibrant colors and no true black levels. This pick is for users who want a sharp, color-accurate screen in a lightweight aluminum body without the OLED premium.
Dell Latitude 14-Inch Intel Core i7 Laptop
The Dell Latitude 5420 offers 16GB of RAM, matching the Swift 3’s memory capacity. It features a 14-inch screen size, keeping the form factor similar. This model includes Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, which may offer faster data transfer speeds than the Swift 3. However, it lacks an OLED display, providing a standard screen instead. The processor is an Intel Core i7, ensuring similar processing power. The build quality and weight differ, as this is a business-oriented chassis. This option is best for users who prioritize RAM and connectivity options over screen quality and modern design aesthetics.
MSI Katana 15 HX 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop
The MSI Katana 15 HX is a gaming laptop with a 15.6-inch screen, larger than the Swift 3’s 14-inch display. It includes an RTX 5060 graphics card, providing dedicated GPU power that the Swift 3 lacks. The 165Hz refresh rate offers smoother motion for gaming compared to the Swift 3’s 90Hz panel. It has 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, matching the original memory and storage. However, it is much heavier and thicker, making it less portable. This laptop is for gamers who need high frame rates and ray tracing support, sacrificing portability and battery life for performance.
