Specs: Size, Screen, and Ports
screen size
The LG gram Pro 16 features a 16-inch IPS display, while the LG gram Max 17 offers a larger 17-inch WQXGA IPS touchscreen. The Max 17’s screen provides 2560x1600 resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio and up to 99% DCI-P3 color support. This gives you more vertical space for documents and spreadsheets. The Pro 16 does not list touch capability or specific color gamut data in the provided specs. If you need a larger canvas for creative work or multitasking, the Max 17 is the clear choice. The Pro 16 remains a standard non-touch panel. Size matters for workspace efficiency.
weight
Portability is a key factor for both laptops. The LG gram Pro 16 weighs 2.73 pounds and measures 0.5 inches thick. It is designed for ultra-light mobility. The LG gram Max 17 is heavier at 3.39 pounds and slightly thicker at 0.57 inches. While both pass military-grade durability standards, the Pro 16 is significantly lighter. If you carry your laptop daily, the Pro 16 reduces strain. The Max 17 sacrifices some portability for its larger screen. Both are thin, but the 16-inch model is easier to pack and carry.
refresh rate
The LG gram Pro 16 supports a variable refresh rate from 31Hz to 144Hz. This allows for smoother motion and better power management by adjusting the rate based on content. The LG gram Max 17 specifications do not list a refresh rate. Without this data, we cannot confirm if it matches the Pro 16’s 144Hz capability. For smoother scrolling or gaming, the Pro 16’s high refresh rate is a notable advantage. The Max 17 focuses on resolution and color accuracy instead. If fluid motion is important to you, the Pro 16 has the edge here.
graphics
Both laptops use integrated Intel graphics, but the specific models differ. The LG gram Pro 16 is equipped with Intel Arc Graphics. The LG gram Max 17 does not list its specific graphics card in the key specs, only mentioning the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. The Pro 16’s Intel Arc Graphics provides a defined performance baseline for light gaming and creative tasks. The Max 17’s graphics performance depends on the specific variant of the Ultra 7 chip, but without explicit data, we cannot compare them directly. The Pro 16 offers clearer graphics specifications.
connectivity
The LG gram Max 17 lists advanced connectivity options including Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth. It also features Dolby Atmos quad-speaker audio. The LG gram Pro 16 mentions LG gram Link for device syncing but does not list specific port types or Wi-Fi standards in its key specs. The Max 17 provides a more comprehensive list of hardware interfaces and audio features. If you need HDMI 2.1 or Wi-Fi 7 out of the box, the Max 17 is the better documented choice. The Pro 16’s port list is unspecified.
