How to Choose the Right LG Laptop
-
Select the Right Screen Size
You should check display dimensions based on your travel habits and desk space. Screen sizes across these laptops range from compact 14-inch panels up to broad 17-inch options. A 14-inch screen suits frequent commuters who pack their device into smaller bags. If you prefer larger viewing areas for split-screen multitasking or games, pick a 16-inch or 17-inch model. The LG gram 17 Lightweight Laptop offers a 2560 x 1600 resolution display on a 17-inch panel while maintaining a low weight.
-
Evaluate Solid State Storage Capacity
You must evaluate internal solid-state drive capacity to accommodate your intended game library and local productivity files. Listed configurations include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB SSDs. A 256GB drive fills rapidly once you install the operating system and several large modern programs. If you keep multiple gaming installations offline, target a 1TB drive instead. The LG gram 16 Intel Core i7 Laptop ships with a 256GB SSD, making it better matched for cloud workflows rather than substantial local game installations.
-
Compare Processor Architectures
You need to inspect the processor platform to ensure sufficient computing speed for your primary software. Options include traditional Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, newer Intel Core Ultra chips, and AMD Ryzen AI silicon. Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen AI options feature updated processing architectures designed for modern computing efficiency. For basic daily computing and lighter loads, traditional options remain functional. The LG Gram Book 15 Intel i5 Laptop features a 10-core Intel chip suited for standard everyday productivity.
-
Check Panel Refresh Rates
You should verify the screen refresh rate specification if you play fast-paced titles. Standard displays operate at 60Hz, while enhanced panels offer 120Hz or 144Hz output. Higher refresh rates deliver smoother on-screen motion and reduced input delay, which benefits competitive gameplay and swift desktop scrolling. If you primarily work in office applications, a standard 60Hz panel is adequate. For smoother visual feedback, look for higher figures. The LG gram Pro 16 Core Ultra 7 includes a dedicated 144Hz display panel.
-
Determine Chassis Form Factor
You should choose between a standard clamshell notebook and a flexible convertible design based on how you interact with your machine. Traditional clamshell builds prioritize rigid keyboard typing and low total weight. Convertible models offer folding 360-degree hinges and touch functionality for drawing, stylus input, or tablet-style media consumption. If you need touchscreen interactivity alongside portable computing, select a 2-in-1 model. The LG gram Pro 16" 2-in-1 OLED Laptop combines convertible versatility with an integrated OLED display.
-
Examine Travel Weight Differences
You must check physical chassis weight if you carry your laptop daily in a backpack. While LG gram models emphasize light builds, weights vary across the catalog from under 2.5 pounds up to 4.28 pounds or higher. Sub-three-pound machines minimize carrying strain during frequent travel. Heavier chassis options often incorporate larger battery units or distinct structural designs. The LG gram 14 Ryzen AI 7 Laptop measures 2.47 pounds, making it one of the lightest configurations on this list.
