Who it fits
Good fit for
This laptop suits professionals who need a large workspace on the go. The 17-inch display is ideal for spreadsheets, coding, or photo editing. The 32GB RAM handles heavy multitasking with ease. Its light weight makes it manageable for travel. Users who value a high-resolution touchscreen and fast SSD will appreciate the daily workflow improvements. It is also good for those who want Windows 11 Pro features.
Who should skip it
Gamers should look elsewhere. The integrated Intel Arc Graphics 140V is not designed for demanding 3D titles. If you need dedicated graphics power, this model will fall short. Also, consider if the 17-inch form factor fits your bag. While light, it is still a large device. Users needing a compact 13-inch or 15-inch screen might find this too bulky for daily commuting.
Verdict: The LG Gram 17 delivers a massive, high-resolution screen in an unexpectedly light chassis. It is a strong choice for mobile professionals who prioritize display quality and multitasking speed over gaming performance.
Key specs explained
Processor: Intel Ultra 7 258V
This eight-core chip handles heavy workloads efficiently. It combines performance and efficient cores for balanced speed. You benefit from quick app launches and smooth multitasking. The 4.8 GHz turbo boost helps with intensive tasks. It suits users who need reliable daily performance without lag. Compare this to older i7 models for modern efficiency gains.
Memory: 32GB DDR5 SDRAM
High-speed RAM allows you to run many programs simultaneously. You can switch between browser tabs, video editors, and chats without slowdowns. This capacity future-proofs your device for years. It is ideal for professionals managing large datasets or creative projects. Most standard laptops offer less, making this a strong advantage for power users.
Storage: 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD
Fast storage ensures quick boot times and rapid file transfers. You gain ample space for documents, photos, and media libraries. The NVMe interface offers significantly higher speeds than older SATA drives. This benefits gamers and creators who load large files frequently. It reduces waiting time when opening applications or saving work projects.
Display: 17" WQXGA IPS Touchscreen
The large screen provides a spacious workspace for detailed tasks. The 2560 x 1600 resolution delivers sharp images and text. Touch capability adds convenience for navigation and media consumption. The IPS panel ensures consistent colors from wide viewing angles. This setup is excellent for productivity and media viewing. Compare it to smaller 15-inch screens for increased productivity benefits.
Design and build quality
According to the listing, this laptop measures 14.91 by 10.19 by 0.74 inches and weighs 3.22 pounds. This combination of a large 17-inch display and light weight is unusual. You get a substantial screen area without the heavy burden of a traditional desktop replacement. The chassis is described as black. The thin bezel design maximizes the display real estate within a manageable footprint. This makes it easier to carry between locations than bulkier alternatives.
The layout includes a full-size backlit keyboard with a numpad. This is practical for data entry or spreadsheet work. A fingerprint reader is integrated into the controls for quick login. The 0.74-inch height suggests a slim profile, though the 17-inch screen requires a larger base. The finish is not detailed beyond the color, so you should expect a standard matte look.
At 3.22 pounds, the weight is manageable for travel. However, the 17-inch size means it is not a pocket device. You will likely use it as a stationary workstation or a bagged laptop. The build prioritizes screen size and portability over compactness. This design suits users who need a large canvas but still move their computer occasionally.
Setup and daily workflow overview
The LG Gram 17Z90TL arrives with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled. You begin setup by connecting the included 65W AC adapter to the dedicated USB-C power jack. The system initializes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. This configuration allows the Intel Ultra 7 258V processor to manage multiple applications without bottlenecking. You experience quick boot times and rapid file transfers thanks to the solid-state drive.
The 17-inch WQXGA touchscreen displays content at 2560 by 1600 resolution. The IPS panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and reaches 320 nits. This brightness level helps when you work in well-lit rooms. The anti-glare coating reduces reflections from overhead lights. You can interact with the interface directly using your finger or a stylus.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. You can connect external monitors, storage drives, or peripherals without needing dongles. The HDMI 2.1 port supports high-resolution video output. Wireless connections rely on Intel Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for stable data transfer.
Input devices feature a full-size backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad. A fingerprint reader provides secure login access. The 77Whr battery supports up to ten hours of non-gaming use. You can carry the 3.22-pound chassis easily between meetings. The 2W stereo speakers provide adequate audio for video calls and media playback.
Before you buy this laptop
This 17-inch laptop demands a stable, flat surface for optimal typing comfort. Its 14.91 by 10.19 inch footprint fits most desks, but verify your workspace dimensions before purchase. The included 65W AC adapter is compact, yet you may need a higher-wattage charger for faster charging if you run intensive tasks. Since it features Thunderbolt 4 ports, ensure your docking station or external monitors support USB4 or Thunderbolt protocols to avoid connectivity issues. Regularly clean the anti-glare touchscreen with a microfiber cloth to maintain clarity. This model targets productivity users rather than gamers. If you need dedicated graphics for heavy gaming, consider other options in this 1-item guide. For mobile professionals who prioritize screen real estate and battery life, this device offers a strong balance of portability and power without the bulk of traditional gaming rigs.
Check before you buy
