6 Best Alternatives to the HP EliteBook 16-Inch Core i5 (2026)

How these laptops compare

Oemgenuine Dell Pro 16 Business Laptop

This Oemgenuine Dell Pro 16 matches the EliteBook’s 16-inch form factor and 16GB RAM capacity. It shares the same 512GB SSD storage tier and Core i5 processor class. The primary difference lies in the memory generation, as this model specifies DDR5 RAM. This type of memory offers higher bandwidth for multitasking heavy applications. You trade the specific vPro security features of the EliteBook for this raw speed advantage. The build dimensions are slightly larger, making it less portable. If you prioritize screen real estate and fast data handling over specialized business security tools, this is a strong alternative. It suits users who need a large display for spreadsheets and data analysis without compromising on processing power.

Dell Latitude 15.6-Inch Core i5 Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5520 reduces the screen size to 15.6 inches while keeping 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. This smaller footprint makes it easier to carry in standard laptop bags. You lose the extra vertical space of the 16-inch WUXGA panel, which can affect how many lines of code or rows of data you view at once. The processor is still an Intel Core i5, ensuring similar multitasking capabilities for business workflows. The weight increases to 5 pounds, making it heavier than the EliteBook. This model is ideal if you prefer a more traditional 15-inch aspect ratio. It works well for professionals who travel frequently but still need ample memory for running multiple browser tabs and office suites simultaneously.

LG Gram 15.6-Inch Core i5 Laptop

The LG Gram 15.6-inch focuses on portability, weighing just 3 pounds. It matches the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD specifications of the EliteBook. You gain significant weight savings, making it easier to carry all day. The screen size shrinks to 15.6 inches, reducing total display area. The processor remains in the Core i5 class, handling standard business tasks efficiently. However, you give up the larger 16-inch canvas for easier transport. This laptop is best for professionals who prioritize lightweight design over maximum screen space. It suits those who spend most of their time on the go and need a reliable machine for emails, documents, and web research without the bulk of a larger chassis.

LG Gram 15.6 Core i5 Laptop

This LG Gram model includes a docking station, adding convenience for desk-bound work. It shares the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD capacity. The screen size is 15.6 inches, smaller than the EliteBook’s 16-inch panel. The weight is 6 pounds, which is heavier than the original laptop. You trade portability for the ease of connecting peripherals via the dock. The Core i5 processor handles business applications smoothly. This option is suitable for users who work primarily at a desk and want to simplify their setup. It is a practical choice for those who value the included docking hardware and do not mind the extra weight for the sake of connectivity and organized workspace management.

Dell Latitude 14 Core i5 Laptop

The Dell Latitude 3440 offers a compact 14-inch display, significantly smaller than the EliteBook’s 16-inch screen. It retains 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The weight drops to 3.42 pounds, improving portability. You lose screen real estate, which can be noticeable for detailed work. The Core i5 processor provides sufficient power for daily business tasks. This model is ideal for professionals who need a smaller, lighter device for travel. It suits users who prioritize a compact form factor and do not require the expansive view of a 16-inch panel. The reduced size makes it easier to fit into tighter spaces, such as small airplane trays or crowded cafes.

Acer Swift 16 AI OLED Laptop

The Acer Swift 16 AI OLED features a 16-inch WUXGA display with OLED technology. It matches the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD capacity. The OLED panel offers superior color accuracy and contrast compared to the EliteBook’s standard IPS display. You gain vibrant visuals for presentations and media consumption. The weight is 3 pounds, lighter than the EliteBook. The processor is an Intel Core i5, handling business workloads effectively. This laptop is best for users who prioritize screen quality and visual fidelity. It suits professionals who need accurate color representation for design work or who simply prefer the richer blacks and brighter whites of an OLED screen over the standard display of the original model.
