Who it fits
Good fit for
This laptop suits business professionals who need a dependable machine for spreadsheets, emails, and web browsing. The 16GB of RAM and i7 processor handle heavy multitasking well. If you work in an office setting and require a sturdy, no-frills device, this model fits your needs. The 512GB SSD offers enough room for documents and local files. It is ideal for users who prioritize processing power and memory over high-resolution visuals.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you need a high-resolution display for graphic design or video editing. The 1366x768 resolution is standard definition and may not meet professional visual standards. Gamers will also find this unsuitable due to the lack of a dedicated graphics card. If you require a thinner, lighter device for frequent travel, the 5-pound weight and 1-inch thickness may feel bulky. This is not a choice for creative pros or mobile gamers.
Verdict: The Dell Latitude 7490 is a practical business laptop with strong multitasking specs. It is a solid choice for office workers who value performance over visual fidelity.

Before You Buy This Dell
Before you finalize this purchase, consider how the Dell Latitude 7490 fits your daily workflow. The 14-inch HD display offers a 1366x768 resolution. This is standard for business tasks but may feel cramped if you edit photos or watch high-definition video. You might need an external monitor for better clarity. The 16GB of DDR4 RAM handles multitasking well, but ensure your software is compatible with the Intel Core i7-8650U processor.
