How HP and MSI alternatives compare
HP Victus 15.6" RTX 3050 Gaming Laptop
The HP Victus 15.6" uses an Intel Core i5-12450H instead of the Ryzen 7 6800HS. It keeps the 16GB RAM and 144Hz display for familiar performance. However, it weighs 7 pounds, which is lighter than the G15’s 8.69 pounds. The chassis is also thicker at 3 inches compared to the Strix’s 0.81 inches. You get the same RTX 3050 graphics and 512GB SSD storage. This model suits players who prefer Intel processors or a slimmer profile, even if the design is bulkier. It offers comparable 1080p gaming without the AMD ecosystem.
MSI Thin A15 15.6" RTX 3050 Gaming Laptop
The MSI Thin A15 swaps the high-end Ryzen 7 6800HS for a Ryzen 5 7535HS. It maintains the 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 144Hz refresh rate for consistent multitasking and visuals. The key difference is weight. This unit weighs just 6.5 pounds, significantly lighter than the 8.69-pound G15. The dimensions are also more compact at 14.1 inches long. You sacrifice some peak processing power for portability. If you carry your laptop daily, this trade-off makes sense. It delivers solid 1080p gaming with the same RTX 3050 GPU while being easier to transport.
MSI Thin 15.6" RTX 3050 Gaming Laptop
This MSI Thin model matches the G15’s RTX 3050, 16GB RAM, and 144Hz screen. It also includes a 512GB SSD. The main distinction is physical size. It weighs only 6 pounds and measures 19 inches by 12 inches, differing from the G15’s 13.9-inch length. The chassis is thicker at 3 inches. You do not get the Ryzen 7 processor or the liquid metal cooling found in the Strix. This option is for budget-focused buyers who want high refresh rates and sufficient memory without the premium build or advanced thermal solutions of the ASUS model.
MSI Cyborg 15 15.6" RTX 5060 Laptop
The MSI Cyborg 15 steps up to an RTX 5060 graphics card, replacing the G15’s RTX 3050. It uses a Core 5-210H processor instead of the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Memory and storage remain at 16GB and 512GB. The standout feature is weight. At 4.29 pounds, it is much lighter than the 8.69-pound G15. The screen is 15.6 inches with a 144Hz refresh rate. You gain graphical power but lose the specific CPU performance of the Strix. This pick is ideal for gamers who prioritize higher frame rates in modern titles over raw processor speed and premium cooling.
HP Victus 15.6" 144Hz RTX 4050 Gaming Laptop
The HP Victus 15.6" with RTX 4050 offers a newer graphics tier than the G15’s RTX 3050. It pairs this with an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, differing from the AMD Ryzen 7. It keeps 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 144Hz display. The weight is 5.14 pounds, lighter than the G15. The chassis is thinner at 0.83 inches. You trade the DDR5 memory speed and Ryzen efficiency for the RTX 4050’s architectural advantages. This model suits players who want better ray tracing and AI features without the bulk of the Strix, accepting Intel processing in return.
HP Victus 15.6" RTX 4050 Gaming Laptop
This HP Victus model combines a Ryzen 7 processor with an RTX 4050 graphics card. It differs from the G15 by using the newer RTX 4050 instead of the RTX 3050. It retains 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 144Hz refresh rate. The weight is 5 pounds, significantly lighter than the 8.69-pound G15. The dimensions are 14.2 inches long. You gain better graphical performance and a lighter chassis but may see differences in thermal management compared to the Strix’s liquid metal cooling. This option fits buyers who want Ryzen 7 power and upgraded graphics in a more portable form factor.
