6 Best Alternatives to the LG gram Pro 17 Touchscreen (2026)

How alternatives compare to LG

ASUS ROG Strix 16 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix 16 replaces the LG gram Pro 17’s productivity focus with dedicated gaming hardware. It features an RTX 5070 graphics card and a Ryzen 9 processor, designed for high frame rates and creative rendering. You get a 16-inch 165Hz display, which offers faster motion clarity than the LG’s standard refresh. However, this performance comes with a significant weight penalty. The ASUS weighs 10 pounds, making it nearly three times heavier than the 3.3-pound LG gram. If you prioritize graphical power and gaming speed over portability, this is a strong alternative. You sacrifice the ultra-light chassis for raw computational throughput and a dedicated GPU.

Acer Nitro V 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop

The Acer Nitro V 16 offers a similar 16-inch form factor but targets budget-conscious gamers. It includes an Intel Core 7 processor and an RTX 5060 graphics card, paired with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Like the LG, it provides ample storage and memory for multitasking. The key difference is the display focus. The Acer’s 165Hz refresh rate prioritizes smooth motion for gaming, whereas the LG emphasizes resolution and touch interaction for work. The Acer weighs 4.63 pounds, which is heavier than the LG but lighter than many gaming laptops. It is a practical choice if you need a capable 16-inch machine for both work and 1080p gaming without the premium price tag of high-end models.

Lenovo ThinkPad 14-Inch 64GB RAM Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad 14-Inch shifts the focus from screen size to memory capacity. It features 64GB of RAM, double the 32GB found in the LG gram Pro 17. This makes it ideal for heavy virtualization and large dataset processing. You trade the LG’s large 17-inch touchscreen for a more compact 14-inch display, which improves portability. The ThinkPad weighs 5 pounds, which is heavier than the LG’s 3.3 pounds but still manageable for travel. It lacks the touch interface and larger screen real estate, but offers superior RAM for professional workloads. Choose this if your tasks require massive memory bandwidth and you prefer a traditional business laptop over a touchscreen convertible.

Apple MacBook Pro 16.2-inch M2 Max

The Apple MacBook Pro 16.2-inch M2 Max provides extreme processing power for creative professionals. It features an M2 Max chip and 32GB of RAM, optimized for video editing and 3D graphics. The 16-inch display offers excellent color accuracy, though it lacks the touch functionality of the LG. The MacBook weighs approximately 4.76 pounds, making it slightly heavier than the LG. You give up the Windows ecosystem and the 17-inch screen size for Apple’s optimized hardware and macOS environment. This alternative is best for users who prioritize creative application performance and display quality over touch input and Windows compatibility. It delivers professional-grade speed in a sleek, portable chassis.

HP Omen 15.3" RTX 5060 Ryzen 7 Gaming Laptop

The HP Omen 15.3" RTX 5060 Ryzen 7 Gaming Laptop offers a middle ground between the LG’s size and gaming performance. It features a Ryzen 7 processor and an RTX 5060 graphics card, paired with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. The 15.3-inch screen is smaller than the LG’s 17-inch display but larger than typical 14-inch laptops. It weighs 5.35 pounds, which is heavier than the LG but more portable than larger gaming rigs. This model is suitable if you want a dedicated GPU for gaming or creative work but prefer a slightly smaller footprint. You sacrifice the LG’s ultra-lightweight design and touch screen for better graphical performance and a more compact 15-inch form factor.

Lenovo ThinkPad 14-inch Ultra 7 Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad 14-inch Ultra 7 Laptop offers high durability and massive memory in a compact frame. It includes 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, doubling the memory of the LG gram Pro 17. The 14-inch display is smaller and lacks touch input, focusing on business reliability. It weighs 3.1 pounds, making it lighter than the LG gram Pro 17. This model is designed for professionals who need robust multitasking capabilities and portability. You trade the large 17-inch touchscreen for a more durable, lightweight chassis with superior RAM. It is the best alternative if you prioritize memory capacity and business-grade durability over screen size and touch interaction.
