How alternatives compare to Yoga 7i
MSI Vector 16 HX AI 144Hz Gaming Laptop
The MSI Vector 16 HX replaces the Yoga 7i’s integrated graphics with an RTX 5070 Ti GPU. This change delivers serious gaming power that the Yoga lacks. You gain an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor paired with a 144Hz display for smoother visuals. However, you sacrifice portability. The MSI weighs 7 pounds and measures 3.5 inches thick, making it much heavier than the 5-pound Yoga 7i. It also lacks the 2-in-1 convertible design and touchscreen stylus support. If you prioritize raw performance and dedicated graphics over a lightweight, versatile form factor, this model fits your needs better than the Yoga.
ASUS ROG Strix G16 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 swaps the Yoga 7i’s Intel processor for a Ryzen 9 CPU and adds an RTX 5070 graphics card. This combination targets high-performance gaming and creative workloads. You get faster processing speeds and dedicated graphics for demanding tasks. The trade-off is the loss of the touchscreen and 2-in-1 functionality. The ASUS is a traditional clamshell laptop weighing 5.51 pounds. It is thicker and less portable than the Yoga 7i. The display lacks touch input, so you cannot use it as a tablet. If you need a powerful machine for gaming or rendering and do not require a stylus or convertible screen, this is a stronger choice.
HP OMEN 16 Ryzen 9 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop
The HP OMEN 16 features a Ryzen 9 processor and an RTX 5060 GPU, offering desktop-class performance. It includes a 240Hz refresh rate, which is significantly faster than the Yoga 7i’s display. This setup suits users who value raw processing power and high-speed visuals. You give up the touchscreen, 2-in-1 hinge, and stylus support found on the Yoga. The HP OMEN weighs 5.38 pounds and is a standard gaming laptop. It is not designed for portability or creative sketching in tablet mode. If you want high frame rates and powerful CPU performance for gaming or video editing, this model provides more graphical horsepower than the Yoga 7i.
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16" RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro uses a Ryzen 7 processor and an RTX 5060 graphics card. It distinguishes itself with an OLED screen, offering superior visual quality compared to the Yoga 7i’s display. This model is ideal for users who value vibrant colors and deep blacks for gaming or media consumption. You lose the touchscreen and convertible 2-in-1 design of the Yoga 7i. The Legion 5 Pro weighs 5.07 pounds, which is similar to the Yoga, but it remains a fixed clamshell laptop. It does not support stylus input or tablet mode. If you prefer an OLED display and dedicated graphics for gaming over a flexible form factor, this is the better option.
HP Omen 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop
The HP Omen 16 pairs an RTX 5060 GPU with a 165Hz display, providing strong gaming performance. It trades resolution for speed, offering a smoother visual experience than the Yoga 7i. This model suits gamers who value the RTX 5060 performance and higher refresh rates. You sacrifice the touchscreen, 2-in-1 hinge, and stylus support. The HP Omen weighs 5.35 pounds and is a traditional gaming laptop. It lacks the versatility of the Yoga 7i for sketching or tablet use. If you need dedicated graphics and a fast display for gaming, this model delivers more power than the Yoga 7i, but without the convertible features.
Acer Swift 16 AI 16GB RAM 1TB SSD
The Acer Swift 16 AI offers a portable OLED touchscreen, making it lighter and more compact than the Yoga 7i. It weighs only 3 pounds, which is significantly less than the 5-pound Yoga. This model is designed for business professionals who value display quality and portability. It lacks the 2-in-1 convertible hinge and stylus support found on the Yoga 7i. The Acer Swift 16 AI is a traditional clamshell laptop. It does not offer the same creative flexibility for sketching or tablet mode. If you need a lightweight, high-quality OLED display for business tasks and do not require a stylus or convertible design, this is a more portable alternative.
