Looking Beyond the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 14" Touchscreen? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

Alternatives to the ThinkPad T14

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 14" Intel i5 Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 replaces the older i5-10210U with the newer i5-1135G7 processor. You get a similar 14-inch screen and 512GB SSD, but this model lacks the touchscreen found on the original. It is slightly heavier at 3.88 pounds compared to the 1.5-kilogram base unit. The dimensions are also more compact in width. This alternative suits business users who prioritize a modern CPU and proven portability over touch interaction. It offers reliable performance for daily tasks without the bulk of larger screens, making it a practical choice for professionals who do not need the tactile feedback of a touchscreen display.

Dell Latitude 15.6-Inch Core i5 Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5520 steps up to a 15.6-inch display, providing more screen real estate than the 14-inch original. It retains 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, ensuring solid multitasking capabilities. However, the larger screen comes with a significant weight increase to 5 pounds. The chassis is wider and deeper, reducing portability. This laptop fits professionals who value display space and memory over the absolute newest processor technology. If you prefer a larger view for spreadsheets or documents and do not mind carrying a heavier machine, this Dell model is a practical option. It avoids the 16-inch category while offering a noticeable upgrade in visual area.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 14-Inch Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 features the i5-1245U processor, offering a generational leap in processing power over the original i5-10210U. It keeps the 14-inch form factor and 512GB SSD but removes the touchscreen. The chassis is slimmer at 0.59 inches thick and weighs 3.6 pounds. This model is designed for business users who value processing speed and RAM efficiency in a standard 14-inch body. It is ideal for those who do not need touch input or the lightest possible weight. The newer architecture provides better performance for complex business applications while maintaining the familiar ThinkPad layout and portability for mobile professionals.

Oemgenuine Dell Pro 16 Business Laptop

The Oemgenuine Dell Pro 16 expands to a 16-inch screen, significantly increasing your workspace compared to the 14-inch original. It includes 16GB of DDR5 RAM, which is faster than the DDR4 in the ThinkPad, along with a 512GB NVMe SSD. The trade-off is size and weight; it weighs 3.95 pounds and has a much larger footprint. This laptop is best for stationary office work where screen real estate and memory speed matter more than portability. It suits users who prioritize performance and display size over carrying a lightweight device. The larger format provides ample space for multitasking but requires a dedicated workspace rather than a lap.

LG Gram 15.6-Inch Core i5 Laptop

The LG Gram 15.6-Inch offers a larger screen while maintaining excellent portability. It includes 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, matching the storage and memory of the original ThinkPad. The silver chassis is designed for mobile professionals who value lightness over a compact form factor. It provides extra storage capacity and a larger display area without the heavy bulk of typical 15-inch laptops. This model is ideal for users who need a bigger screen for productivity but still travel frequently. It sacrifices the rugged business aesthetic of the ThinkPad for a sleeker, lighter design that prioritizes ease of transport and visual comfort.

LG Gram 15.6 Core i5 Laptop

The LG Gram 15.6 Core i5 Laptop provides a 15.6-inch FHD display and 16GB of RAM for business use. It includes 672GB of storage, which exceeds the 512GB SSD in the original ThinkPad. The silver model weighs 6 pounds, making it heavier than the original. It is a practical choice for professionals who value a larger screen and included docking accessories over extreme portability. This laptop suits users who need a numeric keypad and a docking station for a fixed desk setup. It offers a balance of screen size and storage capacity, appealing to those who prioritize connectivity and workspace over the lightweight design of the 14-inch alternative.
