Who it fits
Good fit for
This laptop suits gamers who want high frame rates and creators who need accurate color reproduction. The OLED panel and powerful GPU make it ideal for playing modern titles at high settings. Professionals working with video editing or 3D rendering will appreciate the CPU and RAM capacity. If you need a machine that handles heavy multitasking without slowing down, this setup fits your workflow. It is also good for users who want a bright, responsive display for everyday use.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you prioritize portability above all else. At 5.36 pounds, this laptop is heavier than many ultrabooks. The 115W GPU and high-end CPU also mean shorter battery life away from a power outlet. If you only play light games or use basic office software, this power is overkill. You might find a cheaper, lighter option that better matches your casual needs. This device is built for performance, not minimalism or budget savings.
Verdict: The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i 16 is a powerful choice for users who need top-tier performance and a stunning display. It balances strong processing power with a high-quality screen for demanding tasks.

Before you buy this laptop
Owning this machine requires attention to its physical footprint and power needs. At 5.36 pounds, it is not a lightweight travel companion. You should ensure your desk space can accommodate its 14.4-inch length. The 16-inch OLED display demands careful handling to avoid scratches. Keep cleaning supplies ready for the glossy screen. Power management is also key. While the USB-C port supports 65-100W charging, the included slim tip connector is likely necessary for full performance. Check that your current peripherals, such as monitors or mice, match the available USB-A and HDMI 2.1 ports. This model fits users who prioritize visual fidelity and raw processing power over portability. It stands apart from lighter options in our guide by offering a larger, more vibrant display. However, if you frequently move between locations, you might prefer a lighter chassis. Consider your daily routine. If you stay mostly at a desk, this setup offers excellent value. If you travel often, the weight and size may become burdensome over time.
Check before you buy
- Verify your desk has enough space for the 14.4-inch width.
- Check if your current peripherals fit the USB-A and HDMI ports.
- Ensure you have a stable surface for the 5.36-pound weight.
- Confirm your USB-C accessories support the required power delivery.
- Plan for regular cleaning of the glossy OLED screen.
