How alternatives compare to Legion 9i
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 matches the Legion 9i with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and RTX 5080 graphics. It shares the 240Hz refresh rate but targets 4K gaming with a sharper display. You get a larger chassis at 8.16 pounds, which reduces portability compared to the Legion’s 7.7-pound frame. The extra width adds bulk, but the visual fidelity justifies the trade-off for desktop-replacement users. If you prioritize screen resolution and modern connectivity over a lighter weight, this model offers a compelling alternative with similar internal power.
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 RTX 5090 Gaming Laptop
The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 with RTX 5090 steps up significantly in graphical performance. It keeps the 18-inch form factor but uses a Mini LED display for enhanced contrast and brightness. Despite the more powerful GPU, this specific model weighs only 6.28 pounds, making it notably lighter than the Legion 9i’s 7.7 pounds. You gain extreme gaming power and superior screen quality while shedding weight. This choice suits users who demand top-tier RTX 5090 performance and value a lighter machine for high-end tasks, accepting the premium specs in a surprisingly compact package.
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 RTX 5090
Another ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 variant features the RTX 5090 for maximum graphical power. It matches the Legion 9i’s 18-inch screen size and 240Hz refresh rate but delivers higher resolution visuals. At 8.22 pounds, it is heavier than the Legion, making it less portable. The Off Black finish and larger dimensions signal a desktop-replacement focus. You trade some portability for raw performance and 4K visual fidelity. This option fits users who need the highest possible GPU power and do not mind the added weight for a top-tier visual experience.
Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16" RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16-inch shifts from an 18-inch to a 16-inch OLED display. It retains the RTX 5080 graphics and Intel Core Ultra 9 processor but offers massive 4TB storage. The OLED panel provides deeper blacks and better contrast than the Legion 9i’s WQUXGA screen. However, the 12-pound weight and larger physical footprint make it less portable than the 18-inch Legion 9i. You gain a compact powerhouse with stunning visuals and huge storage, ideal for users who want high-end specs in a smaller screen size without sacrificing performance.
Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16" RTX 5080

It includes 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, offering strong content creation capabilities. The 16-inch OLED screen provides superior color accuracy compared to the Legion 9i’s panel. At 12 pounds, it is heavier and bulkier than the 18-inch Legion 9i. You trade the larger 18-inch screen for a more compact 16-inch form factor with OLED clarity. This choice suits users who prioritize visual fidelity and compact design over the sheer screen real estate of the Legion 9i.
GIGABYTE AORUS Master 18 RTX 5080
The GIGABYTE AORUS Master 18 RTX 5080 matches the Legion 9i’s Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and 18-inch screen size. It features a Mini LED display for enhanced brightness and contrast. At 7.72 pounds, it is nearly identical in weight to the Legion 9i’s 7.7 pounds. The 2TB storage capacity exceeds the Legion’s 1TB SSD, providing more space for games and files. You gain a large screen with high-end AI processing power and extra storage. This option fits users who value desktop-tier performance and a large display without significant weight differences.
