6 Best Alternatives to the HP Omen 16 RTX 5060 (2026)

Comparing HP Omen 16 Alternatives

MSI Cyborg 15.6" Ryzen 9 RTX 5060 Laptop

The MSI Cyborg 15.6" Ryzen 9 model swaps the HP's AMD Ryzen AI 7 for a Ryzen 9 processor. It keeps the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage but uses a 144Hz refresh rate display instead of the 165Hz panel found on the Omen. This laptop is significantly larger and heavier, measuring 19 inches in length and weighing 7 pounds compared to the Omen's 5.4 pounds. The chassis is also thicker at 3.5 inches. You get similar high-end specs for storage and memory, but you trade the faster screen refresh rate and lighter weight for the raw processing power of the Ryzen 9 chip. This option suits users who prioritize CPU performance and do not mind a bulkier device.

HP Omen 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop

This HP Omen 16 model is nearly identical to the original reference unit. It features the same 16-inch screen, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD storage. The primary difference is a marginal weight reduction, coming in at 5.35 pounds versus the 5.4 pounds of the original. Both laptops share the same model number, TPN-Q305, and physical dimensions. The performance profile remains consistent with the Ryzen AI 7 350 processor and RTX 5060 graphics. You are essentially choosing between two units with negligible physical differences. This alternative is for buyers who find this specific configuration available at a different time or from a different seller while seeking the exact same spec sheet as the main pick.

MSI Cyborg 15.6" Core 7 RTX 5060 Laptop

The MSI Cyborg 15.6" Intel Core 7 variant replaces the AMD processor with an Intel Core 7 chip. It retains the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD configuration but drops the refresh rate to 144Hz, down from the 165Hz found on the HP Omen. The display size is also smaller at 15.6 inches compared to the 16-inch panel on the Omen. The chassis is heavier at 6 pounds and wider than the HP model. You gain Intel architecture compatibility but lose the slightly faster screen and the AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor. This laptop is best for users who prefer Intel processors and need a docking station, accepting the larger footprint and lower refresh rate as trade-offs.

HP Omen 16 RTX 5060 Ryzen 9 Gaming Laptop

The HP Omen 16 Ryzen 9 model upgrades the processor from the Ryzen AI 7 350 to a Ryzen 9 chip. It keeps the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD but changes the screen to a 2K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. The original Omen has a 1200P display with a 165Hz refresh rate. You gain sharper image clarity on the 2K screen but lose the higher refresh rate and the specific AI acceleration features of the Ryzen AI 7. The weight is nearly identical at 5.42 pounds. This alternative is ideal for gamers who value visual fidelity and higher resolution over the smoother motion provided by the 165Hz panel.

ASUS TUF A18 18" WUXGA Ryzen 7

The ASUS TUF A18 offers a significantly larger 18-inch WUXGA display compared to the 16-inch screen on the HP Omen. It uses a Ryzen 7 processor instead of the Ryzen AI 7 350, but maintains the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage. The laptop is slightly lighter at 5.19 pounds and thinner at 0.92 inches. You gain more screen real estate for immersive gaming but lose the specific AI features and the 165Hz refresh rate. The display resolution is WUXGA, which differs from the 1200P panel on the Omen. This choice suits users who prioritize a larger canvas for gaming and multitasking over the compact form factor and higher refresh rate of the HP model.

Lenovo LOQ 15.6 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo LOQ 15.6" swaps the AMD Ryzen AI 7 for an Intel Core i7 processor. It keeps the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD but uses a 144Hz refresh rate screen, which is slower than the 165Hz panel on the Omen. The display is smaller at 15.6 inches and has a different resolution profile. The laptop is lighter at 5 pounds and thinner than the HP model. You gain G-Sync support and a more portable form factor but lose the AI acceleration features and the faster refresh rate. This option is suitable for users who want Intel performance and G-Sync compatibility while accepting a smaller, lower-refresh-rate display.
