The Dell Latitude 7420 Business Laptop offers 32GB of RAM and a 14-inch FHD touch display for demanding multitasking. If you are searching for dell latitude 7420 business laptop alternatives, you may want different specifications or brands. This guide presents 6 options that share similar core capabilities while addressing specific needs. Each selection overlaps with the original in memory, storage, or processor class.
You might prefer a lighter frame, a larger screen, or a different connectivity suite. Some users prioritize Thunderbolt 4 ports or vPro security features over touch input. Others seek AMD processors or budget-friendly configurations with 16GB of RAM. These alternatives provide standard business ports and Windows 11 Pro compatibility. They maintain the professional focus of the Latitude 7420 while offering varied form factors. You can choose based on weight, screen size, or specific processor generations. The list includes models from Dell and Lenovo to cover diverse requirements.
Our top pick: Dell Latitude 14-inch Touch Laptop with 32GB RAM.
How these alternatives compare
Dell Latitude 14-Inch Touchscreen Laptop
This Dell Latitude model shares the same 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD as the original, but it weighs slightly less at 2.89 pounds. The processor remains the 11th-gen Core i7, so raw speed is identical. You get a 14-inch touch display and business ports, just like the top pick. The main difference is the chassis weight, which is marginally lighter. If you want the exact same multitasking capability in a slightly lighter frame, this is a direct alternative. It does not offer newer processors or faster storage, so stick with the original if you prefer the confirmed three-pound build or specific port layouts. It is a solid choice for those prioritizing minimal weight differences.
Dell Latitude 14-Inch Core i7 Laptop
This option uses the same i7-1185G7 processor, 32GB RAM, and 512GB SSD as the original Dell Latitude. However, it weighs significantly less at 1.22 kilograms, making it much more portable. The screen size is listed as 14 inches, though dimensions suggest a compact build. You trade the confirmed touch display and specific port configuration for extreme lightness. If you carry your laptop daily and need high memory for multitasking without the bulk, this is a strong candidate. It lacks the touch feature and verified port selection of the original. It is best for users who prioritize weight over display interactivity and standardized business connectivity options.
This Dell Latitude 5440 features a newer 13th-generation Core i7 processor, offering faster performance than the original’s 11th-gen chip. It has 16GB RAM, which is half the memory of the 32GB original, limiting heavy multitasking. The 14-inch screen and 512GB SSD match the original’s storage and size. You gain a newer CPU but lose significant RAM capacity. This model suits users who need faster processing for general tasks but do not require massive memory for multiple virtual machines. It is lighter at two pounds. If your workflow relies on 32GB RAM for stability, the original is better. Choose this for newer architecture and lighter weight.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 offers 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD on a 14-inch display. It weighs 2.4 pounds, which is lighter than the original three-pound frame. The processor is not specified in the data, but it is a Gen 9 model, likely older than the original’s 11th-gen i7. You get a premium business build and portability, but you sacrifice the 32GB RAM capacity and the touch display. This laptop is ideal for professionals who value brand reputation and lightweight design over maximum memory. It does not match the original’s multitasking headroom. Pick this if you prioritize a slim profile and established business features over raw RAM specs.
Dell Latitude 15.6" Core i7 Laptop
This Dell Latitude 5520 features a 15.6-inch display, which is larger than the original’s 14-inch screen. It has 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, matching the storage but halving the memory. The processor is an i7, likely comparable or newer. It weighs five pounds, making it significantly heavier and less portable. You gain screen real estate and potentially vPro capabilities, but lose portability and multitasking capacity. This model suits users who need a larger display for productivity and do not mind the weight. It is not for travelers. If you need 32GB RAM or a lightweight device, the original is superior. Choose this for screen size and desktop-like performance.
The Dell Latitude 7480 provides 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, doubling the storage of the original while keeping the same memory capacity. The processor is an i7, but it is an older model than the original’s 11th-gen chip. The 14-inch screen is not specified as touch-enabled. You gain massive storage for data-heavy tasks but sacrifice newer processing speed and touch interactivity. This laptop is best for users who prioritize storage volume and memory over CPU generation. It is a solid choice for office work and large file management. If you need the latest processor performance or touch features, the original is better. Pick this for high storage and memory at a potentially lower cost.
