How these alternatives compare
Apple MacBook Pro 16 M5 Pro 48GB
The MacBook Pro 16 M5 Pro with 48GB memory shares the same 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display and M5 Pro processor as the 64GB model. It offers a slightly different memory configuration, which may suit users who do not require the maximum unified memory capacity. Both laptops feature 1TB SSD storage and maintain the same compact chassis dimensions. You get identical AI performance and screen quality. The primary difference lies in the memory size. If you find 48GB sufficient for your creative workflows, this version provides the same ecosystem benefits. It remains an ideal choice for Apple ecosystem users prioritizing screen fidelity and on-device AI tasks without needing the highest memory tier.
HP OMEN 16 OLED Ryzen 9 9955HX
The HP OMEN 16 OLED replaces Apple silicon with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card. This configuration shifts the focus from Apple’s integrated ecosystem to dedicated gaming performance. You gain access to Windows-based applications and potentially higher frame rates in supported games. The laptop features 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage, similar to the MacBook’s storage capacity. However, it weighs nearly a pound more and has a thicker profile. The OLED display offers vibrant colors, though it differs from the Liquid Retina XDR technology. This option suits users who need high-performance gaming capabilities alongside creative work, preferring Windows over macOS and dedicated graphics over integrated solutions.
LG gram Pro 16 OLED Laptop
The LG gram Pro 16 OLED prioritizes portability above all else. Weighing just 2.64 pounds, it is significantly lighter than the 9.07-pound MacBook Pro. It features a 16-inch OLED display and 16GB of RAM with 1TB SSD storage. The Intel Arc B390 graphics handle everyday tasks and light creative work, but it lacks the raw power of the M5 Pro’s 20-core GPU. You trade significant processing strength and memory capacity for extreme mobility. This laptop is ideal for travelers who need a premium screen and strong CPU performance in a lightweight chassis. It fits users who value weight and battery life over intensive gaming or heavy AI workloads. The OLED panel provides excellent contrast, making it a strong contender for mobile productivity.

The Razer Blade 16 combines an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti graphics card with 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage. It delivers flagship gaming performance in a relatively compact 4.72-pound chassis, which is lighter than the MacBook Pro. The RTX 5070 Ti offers dedicated graphics power that surpasses the M5 Pro’s integrated GPU in gaming scenarios. You get a machine suitable for both high-FPS gaming and precise color-accurate creative work. The build quality emphasizes portability without sacrificing processing power. This option appeals to users who need a dual-purpose device for gaming and professional tasks. It provides a Windows alternative with strong visual performance. The lighter weight makes it easier to carry, while the dedicated GPU ensures smooth rendering in graphics-intensive applications.
Dell Alienware 16X 64GB RTX 5070
The Dell Alienware 16X features an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card. It stands out with 64GB of RAM and a 240Hz refresh rate display, matching the MacBook Pro’s memory capacity but adding high-speed gaming visuals. The laptop weighs 5.66 pounds and is designed for stationary use rather than portability. You gain raw processing power and a high-refresh screen ideal for competitive gaming. The RTX 5070 provides dedicated graphics capabilities that differ from Apple’s unified architecture. This machine suits users who prioritize heavy multitasking and high-frame-rate gaming over battery life or lightweight design. It offers a powerful Windows alternative for those who need maximum performance and visual fluidity in a desktop-replacement form factor.
ASUS ROG Strix G16 RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 features an NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card, which offers higher performance than the RTX 5070 found in other alternatives. It includes 32GB of RAM and a 240Hz refresh rate display, targeting gamers who value high frame rates. The laptop weighs 6.02 pounds, making it heavier than the MacBook Pro.
