Who it fits
Good fit for
This laptop suits gamers who want high frame rates in AAA titles. The RTX 5070 Ti and DLSS 4 support help maintain smooth gameplay. Content creators will appreciate the 32GB of RAM and the fast 2TB SSD. The 18-inch screen provides ample space for editing timelines or detailed work. The large chassis allows for effective cooling with AeroBlade 3D fans. If you need a powerful desktop replacement that travels, this model fits your needs. The AI features also assist with background removal and audio optimization during streaming.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you prioritize portability. This laptop weighs 7.28 pounds and measures 1.1 inches thick. It is not a device for frequent travel or light use. The 18-inch screen is large and may be too big for small desks. If you need a smaller 15-inch or 16-inch chassis, this is not it. The model also lacks a microSD card slot, which might inconvenience photographers. Additionally, the internal storage slots are fully occupied by the 2TB SSD, leaving no room for easy upgrades without replacing the drive.
Verdict: The Acer Predator Helios Neo 18 delivers serious performance for its price bracket. It is a solid choice for users who need raw power and a large, high-refresh-rate display.

Before You Buy This 18-Inch Beast
This large 18-inch laptop requires a spacious desk and a robust power setup. Its 7.28-pound weight makes it a desktop replacement, not a portable companion. You must verify that your workspace can accommodate its 15.8-inch width and 12.1-inch depth. The included 32GB of DDR5 memory is sufficient for most gaming, but you may need to upgrade if you run heavy virtual machines or video editing software alongside your games. Check your existing peripherals for compatibility with Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. Regular cleaning of the AeroBlade fans is essential to maintain the liquid metal cooling efficiency. This model sits at the high end of the 1 options available. It suits users who prioritize raw frame rates and ray tracing over portability. If you need a lighter machine for travel, consider the other entries in this guide that emphasize compact designs and battery life instead of maximum thermal headroom.
